Coca leaves on Andean tapestry

Green, gentle coca leaf, essence of my diet
However, sweet or bitter, I love you
Loyal companion in my sorrows
Together with my herd and my charango

Among the Quechua and Aymara people
You grew like the wild herb
A wicked brother tainted your fate forever
bleached your leaf and brought death

Poem by Spicy Fingers: Take Care Of Your Body! PDF Print E-mail
Your body is your precious gift
A vehicle for taking you through this
Journey called life.
The better care you take of
This your vehicle
The longer and more enjoyable
Your journey is likely to be.

Poem by Roy Davatoc: Petition PDF Print E-mail

My love

when the sun has given way to silence

and I am there dazzled by your light

when my hands

offer refuge to hopelessness

exactly at that very moment

when you feel the dawn disturbs your mood

I want you to read this poem

to the angry and sad

to the crying and suffering

to the mother who's had enough of her struggles

to the child running free

around the fields of Chincha

roasting his skin bear

in search of hope

just like us on the edge of the abbys

with your reflection on a cup of coffee

I yearn for many to recite your creed

and thus prolongue the joy of bringing to life

the fallen titan that has remained from our devotion

I want to travel in my memories

Denisse

where I am able to reach your image:

which resembles a small part of me

From Book: “ALMA. Cuando un corazón emigra"

Translated into English by Misael Marceliano
