Representing Peru at The Mayor's Thames Festival 2008 |

We are very grateful to the organisers of the Thames Festival for giving Baila Peru the opportunity to be part of this magnificent parade.
We are deeply grateful to all participants, sponsors and volunteers who supported us and contributed to the representation of Peru, showcasing some of the most representative dances from the three regions.
A special thanks to the Peruvian Embassy and Peruvian Consulate for
their support and encouragement.
Baila Peru is delighted to have been the first Peruvian dance group to lead the Peruvian parade
at the Thames Festival Night Carnival, for the very first time. We
certainly hope our initiative will encourage more participation from
other Peruvian groups and artists to actively represent our culture in
many of the cultural events around London and the UK. Together we can
create a bigger impact.
We would like to highlight the importance
of working together in harmony, with transparency and having a clear
vision. We are extremely grateful to those who have agreed to work
with and as part of Baila Peru right from the beginning to the end
(below is the list of all contributors).
It was a pleasure as well as a remarkable experience for
us to work and dance together with other groups and talented artists,
all sharing the resources available, which were made possible by the Thames Festival, sponsors and supporters.
Baila Peru takes pride in being inclusive of our diversity and
ethnicity by exposing dances from the three regions of Peru and
welcoming the participation of those who wanted to be part of the
Peruvian parade, regardless of their background, gender and age.
